Engine Instrumentation for the TFE731 Conversion

Email Questions or Comments

The TFE731-3 provides N1 speed, N2 speed, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Turbine Temperature, Fuel Flow, Oil Pressure Switch and Fuel Pressure Switch functions.  The Kit contains an oil pressure adapter for the Hawker/WestWind motor versions along with a bespoke fuel flow sender (to be used with a Hawker or WestWind fuel flow turbine housing) and an N1/N2 monopole signal conditioning box to convert the zero crossing high frequency sine wave produced by the 731 monopole sensors into a logic level lower frequency square wave signal acceptable to the G3X or Skyview (or similar) avionics system.  Electronic International produces a stand alone engine only instrument which would be suitable as well.  The installer must choose some method of displaying engine related data to the pilot.  This can take the form of using instruments from the donor Hawker/WestWind/etc to placing a 4" square Electronics International (or similar) engine instrument all the way to ripping out all the L39 instruments and replacing them with a Garmin G3X flight deck with autopilot, ADS-B in/out, synthetic vision, terrain and full redundant support for all these features in the rear cockpit.  The last is our preferred solution and is incorporated in all the planes we build.  It is lighter, removes supporting older systems and is feature rich.
